The Duldig Studio offers specialist tours of our nationally significant collection for students and learners of all ages. We offer unique object-based learning opportunities in conjunction with our current exhibition, The Studio of Karl Duldig – A Living Legacy. We offer introductory and interactive tours of the exhibition and Studio with gallery educators tailored to the year level.

Connecting Through Clay tour & workshop
(Levels F-2 & 3-10)

A workshop that brings together looking at and talking about art and followed by a practical clay workshop with a professional sculptor. The workshop can be delivered at school or at our Studio.

Journeys & Change: Connecting Through Art
(All Year Levels)

Through the artists’ house and sculpture garden, hear and see the journey of a young family escaping Europe at the start of the Second World War to their establishment of a creative and rewarding life in a new country. Suitable for all year levels, and English as a second language.

Studio Inspiration & Techniques, Practices & Processes
(VCE Studio Arts Unit 1 & 3)

See, analyse, discuss, and reflect on the different studio practices of Karl Duldig from his student studio in Vienna in the 1930s to his own purpose-designed and built studio in his sculpture garden in Melbourne from the 1960s-80s.

Behind the Scenes at Duldig Studio
(VCE Studio Arts Unit 4, Arts Industry Contexts)

Give your students first-hand insight into exhibition development, design, installation and promotion at Duldig Studio. Explore how artworks are presented within the current exhibition and the considerations of artists and curators.

(VCE Art Unit 1)

Discover the art and life of Karl Duldig, the links between his culture, identity and art and his changing studios and studio practices.

MADE: MUMA & Duldig Experience
(VCE Studio Arts Unit 4)

Encompassing visits to both a public museum (MUMA Monash University Museum of Art) and a house museum (Duldig Studio), this joint initiative provides exceptional access to the local art industry across multiple venues.
